Meet the Heart Behind

Life Edit Photography

Because your story deserves more than a backdrop - it deserves an experience

My Story

A behind the scenes picture of the photographer of life edit photography taking a picture at golden hour. The photo is taken of his back with the golden light casting into his face.

Hi, I’m James, and I’ve always felt most at home in the mountains. Growing up, vacations meant hiking trails, camping under endless skies, playing in the ocean on the Oregon coast, and chasing sunsets that painted the sky gold. There’s something about the quiet of alpine lakes and the way clouds roll over peaks that reminds me what matters most—connection, simplicity, and the beauty of being present.

Those moments shaped me. They taught me that life isn’t about rushing from one thing to the next—it’s about slowing down and savoring experiences that feel real.

Why Adventure Matters

Adventure isn’t just about the destination—it’s about the journey. It’s the laughter on the trail, the wind in your hair, and the freedom to create a day that feels like you. Whether it’s an intimate elopement on a rugged cliff or a lifestyle session that celebrates strength and movement, I believe photography should capture more than poses—it should capture the essence of your story.

What I Bring to Your Experience

When you choose Life Edit Photography, you’re choosing more than a photographer—you’re choosing someone who understands the value of slowing down and being present. You’re guided through the details—locations, permits, timelines—so your day feels effortless and unforgettable. My goal is simple: to create images that feel alive, authentic, and deeply connected to the places and people that matter most.

Beyond the Lens

When I’m not photographing, you’ll find me exploring new trails, planning my next adventure, or sipping coffee that’s probably too strong. I love gear that makes outdoor life easier, and I’m always looking for new ways to blend creativity with nature.
